Gee-Gees Varsity Food Squad Member

Support your Gee-Gees Varsity Sports teams! We're looking for volunteers throughout the year to assist with meals, snack and hyration during training camps, support meal workshops presented to athletes, producing social media content, and set-up/clean-up. The ideal volunteer would have an interest in working with high-performance athletes, coaches, and IST staff. They should be quick on their feet, solution-oriented, reactive, and proactive, enthusiastic, and interested in a high-performance environment.

Community Partner: Ontario Public Interest Group (OPIRG) - Ottawa (On-Campus)

If you're hoping to improve your green thumb this year, this opportunity is for you! The Learning Garden is a volunteer-run space at the University of Ottawa main campus open to all people interested in learning how to grow food, medicine and plants in general. They need volunteers both in-person and remotely to support the work around the gardens, coordinate volunteers and learning activities around the garden, and to support the outreach work. Come and be one with the garden!

The Ottawa Mission needs YOU to help prepare and serve nutritious meals to those in need! Community Partner: Ability Online - Toronto - virtual placement, ON

Ability Online is the first social media technology platform to connect young people with disabilities to each other and the world around them. Friendship Mentors are needed to facilitate communication between youth and share specific areas of expertise and inspiration to the participants, such as physical and mental health, advocacy, life skills and social skills. Training will be provided to Mentors by the organization. This opportunity is offered solely online.

Support those in need by volunteering as a Supper Table Volunteer with St Joe's! Volunteers can help with food preparation, plating, guest services, serving coffee, and even social media support from home! Join the St Joe’s community close to campus in providing the less fortunate a home-cooked meal every weekday evening. We need YOU to make a difference in our neighbourhood !

Day of Service: Level-Up Volunteer

Community partner: Office of Vice-provost Equity, Diversity, and Inclusive Excellence - Ottawa, ON

On July 27th from 8am to 5pm, the Black Student Athletes Advocacy Council is hosting their Level-Up event. Level Up is a program designed to create a pathway to university for young individuals. The program includes two sport sessions led by professional athletes or gee-gees athletes. It also includes interactive academic sessions hosted by STEM Faculty, Telfer School of Management, and the Faculty of Health Sciences. Volunteers are needed to check in participants and take attendance, assist with set up and take down, and help out around the event.
