Educators and researchers are increasingly exploring digital game-based learning, mobile learning applications, and low-cost instructional materials to enhance students’ interest, engagement, and achievement particularly in science and environmental education.
This international symposium brings together emerging scholars and practitioners from Canada and Nigeria to share research-based insights, practical experiences, and innovative pedagogical approaches that respond to contemporary educational challenges. The event aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue, global collaboration, and reflective practice in education.
Objectives of the Symposium:

Grace Titilope Babafemi

Presentation Topic: What Does Digital Game-Based Learning Have to Offer? Insights from a Narrative Review
Grace Babafemi specializes in cognition and learning, with strong interests in digital pedagogy, STEM education, and creative pedagogies. She holds a Master’s degree in Science Education and a Bachelor’s degree (Hons.) in Biology Education, with over seven years of experience as an assistant lecturer. She is a recipient of the Moriyama Graduate Fellowship at Brock University and the Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Best Graduating Student in the Faculty of Education at Adekunle Ajasin University. Her work emphasizes interdisciplinary research collaboration and community partnerships.
Eseosa Ehidiamen Oamen
PhD Candidate, Faculty of Education, University of Benin, Nigeria
Presentation Topic: Nature identification App on Secondary School Students’ Interest and Achievement in Ecology
Eseosa Oamen holds a B.Sc. (Education) in Biology and an M.Sc. (Education) in Instructional Technology from the University of Benin. He is a registered teacher with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) and has over five years of teaching experience. His instructional practice is grounded in student-centred pedagogy, active learning, and learner engagement, with a strong focus on technology-supported instruction.
