The Division has active research in applications of Virtual Reality in medical imaging, radiation therapy planning and delivery, ablative radiation therapy, and novel strategies in magnetic resonance imaging. The group offers a CAMPEP accredited medical physics residency program in radiation oncology physics at The Ottawa Hospital.
A key role of the Division of Medical Physics is to prepare the next generation of clinicians and scientists, with the goal of advancing patient care within the Ottawa Region, nationally, and globally. Medical Physicists provide didactic and informal training on the physics of medical imaging and radiation therapy to medical residents in Radiology and Radiation Oncology. Research supervision of undergraduate and graduate students in physics and related scientists provides an important pipeline for the future. The group also provides a CAMPEP-accredited residency program in Radiation Oncology Physics, hosted at The Ottawa Hospital.
