The AI Seed Funding Program aims to support new and ongoing research initiatives that will enhance the Faculty of Medicine’s AI capacity. It is funded by the AI Knowledge Translation Fund, which was recently created with the generous support of donors Joseph and Amy Ip.
The program considers applications for projects to be completed over a maximum of one year requesting up to $10,000. Application details can be found in the program Terms of Reference.
The Faculty of Medicine (FoM) has prioritized inclusivity, diversity, equity, accessibility, and social justice (IDEAS) in its 2025-30 Strategic Plan. As such, the IDEAS concepts are considered throughout this process. Part of this includes completing all three CIHR SGBA+ modules and providing the three certificates of completion as part of the application package), plus completion of a post-submission self-identification survey (described within terms of reference).
