100 Laurier building

Building Information

After the building and land were purchased in 1970, 100 Laurier became the oldest building on the University of Ottawa’s campus. The building, which was built between 1893–94, was previously used as a school for young men who chose to pursue a religious life and to join the Order of the Oblates. The distinct limestone building, with its large cornices, elevated turrets, and now-empty niche, houses the uOttawa’s Department of Visual Arts.
