The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act states that all employers must provide emergency response information in an accessible format to all employees with a disability that requires an accommodation. If an employee has an emergency response plan in place, please ensure that you revisit the emergency response plan with the employee in light of the temporary disruptions/maintenance. If an employee submits a new request for an accommodation due to a disability, the employee should discussion their request with their supervisor and/or the Human Resources Department.
If employees require advice on emergency preparedness or assistance with developing a personal emergency plan, they should inform their supervisor the Human Resources Department. The Emergency Management Office may be consulted should subject matter expertise be required.
