Montpetit Hall, built in 1972, is a four-storey, two-basement building. The building is named after Father Médéric Montpetit, who persuaded The University of Ottawa to open Canada’s first physical education and recreation institute. Montpetit Hall is home to the School of Human Kinetics. Sports and recreational facilities, classrooms, gymnasiums, exercise rooms, squash courts, computer labs, offices, and study rooms are located throughout the building.
