The drastically different layout and appearance is the first thing you notice when you come to the new website. It’s fresh, clean, modern, generously uses white space and has a minimalist feel to it. Big, bold images capture the eye and draw your attention to the content.

The raison d’être of the web site is to provide you with information you require to do your work, learning, teaching, and research. Pages have been merged to be more concise, the copy is snappier and has been reworked to be clearer than ever. Reports and supplementary information are represented by consistent icons to make it easier for you to see them. External links are now clearly identified before you click on them. Links to articles continue to have the time it will take for you to read.

Linking the content to the layout is the information architecture and navigation of the site. We use a polyhierarchical approach when appropriate so that you can find links at several convenient locations. The accessibility is improved, and we’ve made our chat service accessible from various client-facing pages along with all the different ways you can get in touch with us. Wondering if a system is unavailable or dates of planned outages for maintenance work? Check theService Alerts page which is now prominently displayed. You’ll find the one-stop Services section handy when you want to quickly locate a specific product. And check out the A-Z index for a comprehensive list of services. The psychology of IT for you makes it easy for students, professors, and staff to zip to the info you need. uOttawa @ remote consolidates the info the community needs to get things done, no matter where they are. So, add to the list of improvements, the content being offered and searchability.

We truly hope that our new website is practical as well as pleasant for you to consult. Have ideas on how to make it even more useful? Please let us know!  We’re here to meet your technological needs.

Our vision: Innovate to enrich our community’s user experience and partner to build the university of tomorrow.
