Please note that we do not rent our spaces during the months of October, November, February or March due to the Department of Theatre’s production schedule.

Rental rates are determined by organization type. Organization categories are defined by one or more of the following criteria: 

Small non-profit

  • Project-based company 

  • Self-produced projects 

  • Less than 2 permanent employees 

  • Fundraising events 

Large non-profit

  • Season or programming 

  • More than 2 permanent employees 

  • Small private companies 

 Corporate and government

  • Government, governmental agencies and arm’s length organisations 

  • Film & TV 

  • Private companies of 4 or more employees

  1. A Senior Technician may be required if a) the sound set-up requires four (4) inputs or more or b) the Technical Director determines the client’s overall technical needs require a Senior Technician rather than a regular Technician. 

  2. Genie lift requires the Department Technical Director, at a rate of $40/hour. Genie work may only be undertaken Monday through Friday, 9am-4pm. 

  3. A second Technician may be required at the discretion of the Technical Director based on the Client’s technical requirements. 

  4. Use of control consoles (Sound and/or lights) implies the hiring of University technicians. 

  5. Any ladder or harness work must be performed by uOttawa personnel only, trained in fall arrest. 

  6. Strikes must take place the day or evening of the last show. Technicians called for a strike must be paid a minimum call of 4 hours. 

  7. The half-day rate may apply only if no set is in the room.
