The MAT1322 challenge exam must be written in-person at uOttawa. The exam will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
IMPORTANT: If you wish to write the challenge exam at uOttawa, you must contact your faculty no later than June 1, 2026 to confirm your eligibility and intention to write the challenge exam.
Once you will have confirmed your eligibility and intention to write the challenge exam to your home faculty, they will add the equivalency MAT1322 with a pending grade (AEC) to your file. This will allow you to enrol for courses that list MAT1322 as a prerequisite. If you subsequently fail the challenge exam, the equivalency will be removed and any course in which you are enrolled that requires MAT1322 as a prerequisite will be automatically dropped.
Passing grade (65% and above): you will be granted MAT1322 in transfer units. You won’t have to take the course.
Failing grade (below 65%): you will be required to complete the course. MAT1322 is usually offered during the fall, winter and summer term.
Additional information
You will need to prepare for the exam on your own during the summer. Once you confirm your intention to write the challenge exam, we will ask the professor who is teaching the course during the summer to give you access to all the lectures and other material posted on Brightspace to help you prepare for the exam.
