As we begin 2026 and as I step fully into the role of Director of the Center for Research and Psychological Services (CPSR), I would like to take a moment to look back on the year that has just ended. I first want to underline my deep feelings of gratitude for the opportunity to lead and support a team that is as dedicated as it is caring. This year’s valuable lessons of balancing the three pillars of CPSR’s mission: training future psychologists, providing high-quality psychological services, and supporting research that advances mental health care would not have been possible without having them by my side.
CPSR continues to offer evidence-based psychotherapy and psychodiagnostic assessment services in a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment. We provide reduced fees for our services and a sliding fee scale to ensure accessibility for children, youth, their families, adults, and couples. Our clinical education program remains strong, with over 50 practicum students and 6 full-time trainees supervised by 30 clinical psychologists who are members of the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario. Our supervisors are either faculty members of our School of Psychology or community psychologists who are committed to the training of students. All our trainees have made a meaningful impact on the well-being of our clients and the broader community, including University of Ottawa students.
Amongst the key initiatives during this last year has been to align our Policies and Procedures with our internal processes, developing training tools for our students to facilitate onboarding to the centre and acquiring a new electronic health record system to better improve the clinic efficiencies. This work has strengthened our operational consistency and ensured that our practices reflect our values and support our mission effectively.
Looking ahead, I am excited to embrace a culture of feedback and continuous improvement. Whether through progress measurement tools, ongoing dialogue with stakeholders, or one-on-one conversations with our team and clients, I look forward to encouraging additional research pursuits within CPSR, further integrating our clinical work with innovative inquiry and evidence-based practice.
It is a privilege to serve CPSR and I remain inspired by the dedication and excellence of our staff, supervisors, and trainees. Together, we continue to build a centre that is responsive, inclusive, and committed to advancing psychological well-being in our community.
Warm regards,
Annie Lamonde
