Join the effort to address the urgent environmental, economic, and sociopolitical challenges of our time, and help shape a better future for humanity. In the International Development and Globalization program, you will study how and why some countries “develop” and others do not in an age of globalized markets, technological advances and innovative ideas. You will examine sustainable development strategies to propose fair and lasting solutions to challenges such as global inequality, climate change, and the lack of access to education and health for marginalized populations.

The program combines theory and practice within a rigorous academic framework. It includes experiential and field experience through study and work terms in Canada and abroad. You will benefit from experiential learning opportunities, including community service (working with local organizations on community development and social justice) and global experience (internships, either in person or online, with partners in social impact organizations in more than 50 countries).
