Group of students on the steps of Tabaret hall
You’ve received an offer of admission. Congratulations!

1. Review your offer

Read the PDF offer of admission in your admission file carefully. You’ll find information on your admission conditions, the average you must maintain and the deadline to accept your offer.

Please note that we only assess and grant transfer credits after you accept your offer of admission

2. Pay your admission deposit (if required)

International students and Canadian students admitted to certain programs must pay a non-refundable admission deposit by the date specified in their admission offer.

3. Receive your PAL (international students)

Once we have received your payment, our Admissions office will email you your provincial attestation letter (PAL) within approximately 3 working days. While awaiting your provincial attestation letter, prepare the other documents you’ll need for your study permit application to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.

You must have your study permit before beginning your studies at the University of Ottawa. We encourage you to start your application as soon as you can. Find out more about the Government of Canada requirements to study in Canada

4. Submit your final transcript

If you’ve received a conditional offer of admission, we must confirm that you meet all the conditions outlined in it before you begin your studies. This process ensures you meet the University’s academic standards and are ready to start your program.

We start verifying admission conditions in May and continue until late August. Make sure to submit the required documents by the deadline in your offer to avoid delays.

Admission condition verification process

Step 1: Submit the required documentation

You can find instructions on submitting your final transcripts in your offer of admission. In most cases, you must upload your final transcripts via uoDoc.

Make sure to upload an official transcript containing your final results. Don’t upload a web link from an external platform or a copy from your student portal. Make sure that all pages are included.

Step 2: Document review and verification

Admission conditions are reviewed by the Admissions Office, as well as your faculty, which means that all your conditions might not be verified at the same time.

Any conditions pertaining to transfer credits are reviewed by your faculty before the last day to enrol and to change your course selection.

Step 3: Confirmation and next steps

You’ll receive a confirmation email once we’ve verified that you meet all admission conditions.

If you fail to meet the conditions, we’ll contact you for an explanation and to discuss alternatives. For example, you might be eligible for an alternate program.

Otherwise, if you fail to meet the conditions, we may revoke your offer of admission and you will lose your non-refundable admission deposit.

International applicants

The University of Ottawa is aware of delays in receiving your transcripts.

CountryNotes
Middle East

The University of Ottawa recognizes that official examination periods in some Middle Eastern countries may be impacted by regional circumstances, which can delay final results.

Please note that we are unable to defer conditional offers. You are encouraged to submit your final results as soon as they become available, at which point your file will be reviewed.

In documented extenuating circumstances, unofficial transcripts accompanied by a sworn affidavit may be accepted to support the continued assessment of your application or the verification of conditions.

However, transfer credits cannot be granted based on unofficial documents; official documentation is required.

All cases are reviewed individually, with the goal of supporting applicants while maintaining academic standards.

Haiti

The University of Ottawa is aware that the official schedule of the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training (MENFP) sets the state examinations from July 14 to 17, 2026.

However, we are unable to defer conditional offers

We will accept the submission of your final transcripts until September 15, 2026.

International BaccalaureateThe University of Ottawa recognizes results issued by the International Baccalaureate under the Non-Exam Contingency Measure (NECM), where final grades are awarded without written examinations due to exceptional circumstances. These grades are considered equivalent to standard exam results.
