The Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC)application period begins in September.

To increase your chances of being considered for the program of your choice, we strongly encourage you to submit your application by January 15. After this date, applications for some of our more popular programs might close.

Students applying to study at the University of Ottawa must use the official OUAC form to submit their application and pay the required fees online.

To avoid fraud, beware of unauthorized third parties. If you have any doubts, check with our official recruitment advisers to make sure you are dealing with recognized representatives.

Secure your place at uOttawa

Carefully review your offer of admission: it contains the deadlines and conditions that apply to your admission. To secure your place at the University of Ottawa, you’ll need to complete the following steps:

• Accept your offer of admission by the deadline indicated in your offer letter.
• Complete your admission file by submitting all required documents and meeting any outstanding conditions of admission.
• Pay your non-refundable admission deposit to secure your place in the program.

Receive your provincial attestation letter (PAL)

Once the University of Ottawa has received your admission deposit, you will receive your provincial attestation letter (PAL), which you will need to apply for your Canadian study permit.

Living in residence is a great way to start your university experience. If you would like to live on campus, the deadline to apply for a place in residence is June 1.

Enrol in your courses

Course enrolment begins in May and only after you have accepted your offer and paid your admission deposit. 

You must accept your offer of admission and pay your non-refundable admission deposit before you will be allowed to enrol in courses.
