Each year, many students from Turkey come to the University of Ottawa for a Canadian degree. They come because of the reputation the Canadian education system enjoys, and in particular, because of the University of Ottawa’s unique multicultural and bilingual (English and French) environment.

Located in the heart of Canada’s capital, the University of Ottawa offers the best of both worlds: students can live and study in French or English and still have the opportunity to become fully bilingual.

If you are an applicant originally from Turkey currently studying in a Canadian institution, please select your current or last school system for information specific to your profile.

  • Have obtained, or be in the process of obtaining, your Lise Diplomasi
  • Have achieved a minimum average of 80/100 (requirements can be higher depending on your chosen program)
  • Meet our language requirements
    • If you are applying for a program offered in English: submit your official score in a uOttawa-recognized English proficiency test.
    • If you are applying for a program offered in French: submit your official score in both uOttawa-recognized French and English proficiency tests.
      • For the French language test, you must achieve a minimum overall score of 65% with a minimum score of 16/25 on the Production écrite component.
  • Space is limited and admission is competitive and not guaranteed. The University of Ottawa reserves the right to deny admission even if an applicant meets all requirements.

If you are currently studying in a French LyceeIB curriculum, GCE curriculum or an American High School, please consult the pages specific to your situation.

If you have taken postsecondary courses (whether or not you have received a degree) and you meet the following conditions, you can be considered for admission to an undergraduate program. You must:

  • Have a minimum average of 70% (requirements might be higher depending on the program of study you choose).
  • Have passed the prerequisites (see “1. Prepare to apply”) for the program of study (minimum of 10/20 required). Unless otherwise indicated, you must complete all prerequisites in your final year or at the postsecondary level.
  • You must ensure that you meet the minimum admission requirements before applying. If you have any questions about these admission requirements, contact InfoAdmission.

Once you have submitted your application and received your acknowledgment of receipt, you can submit your documents in uoZone. If you are currently in your senior year, submit the following documents:

  • Transcript covering your past three years of secondary studies
  • English proficiency test results and/or French proficiency test
  • Transcript of results from the first term of your final year

If you have already graduated, submit the following documents:

  • Transcript covering your past three years of secondary studies
  • English proficiency test results and/or French proficiency test

If you have completed some postsecondary studies, you will be evaluated on this basis, even if you are applying for an undergraduate program.

We may grant you advanced standing (i.e., transfer your credits), depending on the program to which you apply. Faculties that grant advanced standing will base their decision on the discipline, the courses you have completed, and the length of your studies.
