New programs
Faculty of Arts
A new major and minor in Indigenous studies are now available and can be combined with another program.
Faculty of Engineering
A new four-year, 120-credit (unit) program offered in both English and French. The program includes a mandatory internship.
Faculty of Health Sciences
Coming soon
This combined program will reduce the overall time to degree completion by one year. The first cohort is expected to begin in fall 2027.
Faculty of Social Sciences
A new fast-track, four-year program, offered in both English and French.
- Dual Fast-Track Degree in Public Administration (BSocSc) and Master of Arts in Public Administration
A new four-year program offered in both English and French. Applicants must have a working knowledge of French to continue to the master’s component.
Telfer School of Management
A new four-year program offered in both English and French.
This interdisciplinary microprogram is offered by the Telfer School of Management in collaboration with the Faculty of Arts. It’s available to Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) students and is offered in both English and French.
Program changes
Faculty of Arts
- Program title changes:
- English as a Second Language (ESL) is now English Language Studies.
- Anglais langue seconde is now Études de la langue anglaise.
- Suspended programs
- B.A. Spécialisé Lettres Françaises et Baccalauréat en éducation. Students can still apply for each program separately.
- BA in Greek and Roman Studies. The major and minor remain available and can be combined with another program for a full BA.
- Honours BA in Digital Journalism (offered in collaboration with Algonquin College, English only).
- Note: The French-language Journalisme numérique program, offered in collaboration with La Cité, remains available.
- Medieval and Renaissance Studies (English and French).
- Microprograms in Professional Writing and Professional Editing.
Faculty of Health Sciences
The following French-language programs have been suspended:
- Sciences de l’activité physique (BHK) and Formation à l’enseignement (BEd) – Cycle primaire, moyen (five-year program)
- Sciences de l’activité physique (BHK) and Formation à l’enseignement (BEd) – Cycle moyen, intermédiaire (five-year program)

Dual fast-track degrees
Dual fast-track degrees reduce the number of overall courses students need to take, allowing them to get the same high-quality qualifications more quickly. Students apply once for admission to two degree programs and can save one or two terms of study.

uOttawa Youth organizes activities that allow elementary and high school students to explore subjects they are interested in, learn useful skills for today and tomorrow, connect with students and experts, further develop their potential, plan their future and learn what studying at university is like. Many of those activities are offered in collaboration with education and community partners.
