Throughout your studies, you will learn to analyze complex issues from diverse perspectives, assess the impact of conflicts on individuals, communities, and states, and develop solutions grounded in human rights, a deep understanding of international realities, and global governance. You will also develop strong skills in research, strategic analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

Learning extends well beyond the classroom. Through hands-on projects, case studies, and opportunities to collaborate with community partners and professionals in the field, you will apply your knowledge to real-world contexts. Located in the heart of Canada’s national capital, the University of Ottawa provides privileged access to a vast network of experts and organizations working in the fields of security, defence, international affairs, and human rights.

By combining these two complementary degrees, while also having opportunities to strengthen your language skills in both French and English at the world’s largest bilingual university, you will gain a competitive advantage in the job market while accelerating your academic journey. This pathway allows you to complete both your bachelor’s and master’s degrees in less time than through traditional programs, while maintaining a degree of flexibility through elective courses.

Upon graduation, you will be well positioned to pursue careers in conflict prevention, public policy development, international security, or human rights advocacy within various levels of government, international or non-governmental organizations, or the private sector. You will have the knowledge, analytical skills, and practical experience needed to address the complex challenges of an ever-changing world.
