Available 24 hours a day, Protection Services is always there to respond when a member of the uOttawa community is in need. There are numerous ways to reach Protection Services to report an emergency.

Emergency phones

There are many emergency phones across uOttawa’s campuses. Keep an eye out for them in the areas you frequent in case you ever need to use them. Simply press the button to establish contact with Protection Services.

In person report

You can always report an emergency in person by approaching an on-duty Protection Services member or by visiting one of our Protection Services offices:

  • Main campus, 141 Louis-Pasteur (open 24/7)
  • Roger-Guindon campus, Room 2013 (open 24/7)

Once in contact with a dispatcher, be sure to describe the situation, the location of the incident, and any other pertinent details clearly and concisely. Also be sure to remain available should additional information be required.

Safe and healthful campus

For any security inquiries that are not urgent, call Protection Services at 613-562-5499.

For any safety or health concerns, speak to your supervisor or other appropriate person, such as a professor or building official. For further information, contact the Occupational Health and Safety sector at [email protected]Accident or incident reports can also be completed online and several online safety training courses are available.

For any building or grounds issues that prevent you from doing your work (leaks, power outages, equipment breakdowns, etc.) and for which immediate assistance is needed, call Facilities at 613-562-5800 ext. 5000.
