Do you like helping others and want to make a difference in your community? Do you welcome life-long learning? Do you want to find solutions to the problems that come your way? A career in medicine may be for you!

We offer various activities to promote medical studies in French to high school and university students. Your participation in these activities will help demystify the path towards medical school and health sciences studies.

Introduction to Medicine Mini-courses

Facilitated by first and second year medical students, this activity will give you the opportunity to:

  • Participate in several interactive clinical skills workshops (intubation, casting, suturing, auscultation, etc.)

  • Visit the anatomy laboratory (university component only)

  • Take part in an information session on admission and the medical school interview

  • Listen to several testimonials from students currently in medical school

We offer 3 Mini-courses per year:

  • Mini-course — university component: Activity reserved for Francophone students of the University of Ottawa, Cégep de l’Outaouais and Collège Nouvelles Frontières (college section)

  • Mini-course — regional component: Activity reserved for Grade 11 and 12 Francophone students from Ottawa area high schools

  • Mini-course — provincial component: Activity reserved for Grade 11 and 12 Francophone students in Ontario high schools

Healthcare Career Days

This event, organized in partnership with the Consortium national de formation en santé — University of Ottawa Chapter, aims to raise awareness among high school and university students of French-language studies leading to healthcare careers:

  • Audiology

  • Occupational Therapy

  • Medicine

  • Speech Therapy

  • Physiotherapy

  • Nutrition

  • Nursing

  • Social services

By participating, you will take part in a variety of training workshops led by university students in the programs presented:

  • Teaching laboratories

  • Problem-solving workshop

  • Technical skills development sessions

  • Practical activities

Destination Success Camp

A 3-day camp that gives Ontario Francophone students the chance to discover university studies at the University of Ottawa. We offer several activities such as:
