The Division of Gynecologic Oncology represents the Regional Gynecologic Oncology Program for The Ottawa Hospital and The University of Ottawa. It provides the only tertiary Gynecologic Oncology comprehensive cancer care within the region. Its primary focus is a longitudinal model of care based on multidisciplinary care delivery from screening, diagnosis, treatment to palliation and incorporates an integrated translational and health services and clinical trial research program.

Clinical services

Over the past year, we have completed 595 surgical procedures as well as 5,473 outpatient clinic visits.  We have an impressive track record with regard to provision of care according to provincial wait time targets and also efficiently and responsibly supervise inpatient hospital bed utilization.  Revision of our surgical procedures with introduction of a screening program and perioperative management for diabetic patients has led to a reduction in our surgical site infections from 14% to 6%.
