The Division of Reproductive Medicine was established in 1973. In 1988, the MOH approved In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) at the Civic site. In 2006, the Ottawa Fertility Centre moved to the current site at 955 Green Valley Crescent.

Message from the Division Head

Tannys Vause

Welcome to the Division of Reproductive Medicine. The Ottawa Fertility Centre is a recognized leader in assisted reproductive technology (ART) bringing excellence, compassion, and innovation to our community’s reproductive care and education.

We are deeply committed to treating each person with dignity, compassion, and respect, ensuring not only physical safety but also emotional support throughout their journey.

Our team is dedicated to staying at the forefront of technology and scientific knowledge. We invest in the right infrastructure and continuously refine our practices, seeking to deliver outcomes that meet the highest standards of quality, ethics, and transparency.

At the same time, we foster an environment of inclusivity: we strive to make care accessible to all, support informed decision-making, and respect diverse family-building paths, including support for LGBTQ2S individuals, single parents, and those exploring fertility preservation.

Beyond direct patient care, our division values teaching and research as foundational pillars. We offer robust training programs and collaborate closely with community partners to expand knowledge, improve practices, and advocate for equitable fertility care.

I am honored to lead a division that blends compassion, clinical excellence, and academic rigor. Whether you are a prospective patient, a learner, or a future collaborator, we welcome you with open arms and a shared commitment to helping families grow through hope, science, and care.

Sincerely,

Dr. Tannys Vause Head, Division of Reproductive Medicine
