About the Vice-Provost

Mandate

The Vice-Provost, Faculty Relations is responsible for faculty recruitment and retention. Her office provides a variety of tools for faculty development and recognizes excellent work and success through numerous awards and competitions.  Her team is also responsible for advising union members on labour relations and takes part in negotiations for the renewal of collective agreements.

Biography

Professor of Theatre in the Faculty of Arts, Kathryn Prince holds a Ph.D. in English Literature from the University of Ottawa and an LLM from York University. She has been the Vice-Provost, Faculty Relations since July 1, 2025.

Professor Prince was previously Associate Vice-Provost, Faculty Relations, and has held several leadership roles at the University of Ottawa since her arrival in 2009. She has occupied, among others, the positions of Interim Dean, Vice-Dean of Governance, and Vice-Dean of Student Experience at the Faculty of Arts.
