Translational and molecular medicine

Translational and molecular medicine is an area of research that coordinates the application of novel discoveries in biological sciences to practical applications in pharmaceutical or clinical settings. This innovative undergraduate program incorporates clinical observations and questions into scientific approaches designed to improve human health and longevity by facilitating new diagnostic tools and treatments.

Program highlights

The core program of TMM is an Honours Bachelor of Science in Translational and Molecular Medicine (BSc). This program offers active and experiential learning opportunities in cutting edge biomedical science. TMM also allows incoming students to enroll in an integrated BSc-MSc or BSc-PhD degree in the Faculty of Medicine. This program will incorporate undergraduate honours and summer research into graduate level thesis work. The expectation is that students admitted in this program will accelerate graduate school completion: students in the BSc-MSc program are expected to complete the program in 5 years (2 years undergrad, 2 years TMM, one-year graduate level) and those in the BSc-PhD program would likely complete their program in 8 years (2 years undergrad, 2 years TMM, 4 years graduate level).
