Minimum requirements

Candidates must have completed at least two years of university study (60 course units) in a Bachelor of Science (BSc) program.

Recommended academic background

This program is designed for students with a strong background in foundational sciences. Programs such as biochemistry, biomedical sciences, chemistry, biopharmaceutical sciences, and biology are most aligned with the curriculum.

Application assessment

Applicants from other science disciplines are evaluated based on how closely their coursework aligns with the program’s foundational science requirements.

As admission is competitive, meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.

The following prerequisite courses apply to all TMM programs and must be completed prior to admission.

Students applying to the TMM program must have completed the following prerequisite courses (or their equivalents). Courses completed under previous course codes are accepted.

First-year required courses
BIO1131 (formerly BIO1130), MAT1330, BIO1141 (formerly BIO1140), and MAT1332

First-year recommended courses
CHM1311, PHY1321, BPS2110, CHM1321

Second-year required courses
BCH2333, BIO2133, and STA2392 (formerly MAT2379)

Second-year recommended courses
CHM2120

Recommended courses are not required but help prepare students for the program.

• March 31, 2027 – Last day to submit online application 

Apply online via the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC) website.

Once you submit your application through OUAC, it will take a few days for your application to be transferred to us. Once we receive it, you will receive an email from the University of Ottawa. This email will contain your credentials for the uoZone portal (student portal).

To upload the required documents, you must log into uoZone and go to the Applications tab. Once there, you must look for the uoDoc application, where you will be able to upload your documents.  

The deadline to receive all documents for your application is April 11th 2027. 

Note: Please also make sure that the document file name does not include any accents or symbols or is too long. 

• Please note that if your most recent studies are at the University of Ottawa, you are not required to upload a copy of your transcript. Our office will have access to this information. If you studied at any other postsecondary institution, you will be required to submit a copy of the document through the uoDoc application in your uoZone account.
• Unofficial transcripts: at the time of application, you can upload a copy of your transcripts through the uoDoc application. It is only when receiving an offer of admission that we require your official transcripts.
• Official transcripts: if you receive an offer of admission, your previous institution must send your transcripts to us either by email to [email protected] or by mail:

• There is no specific format required for the resume. The Career Corner Office has some templates you can use when writing your resume. 

• Courses at the University of Ottawa are given in English, French or both languages. You must master the language of instruction of your program to be admitted. The language requirements website for undergraduate studies contains information regarding the recognized tests, the required scores, and the exemptions that could be made.
