Important Note – Repeated Courses and French Immersion
When a student repeats a course, whether it was previously passed or failed, only the second attempt receives course credit. For example, if a student repeats a previously passed French‑taught course (e.g. POL 1502, grade “D”) by taking the equivalent course offered in English (e.g. POL 1102), the original French course and grade will remain on the transcript; however, no credit is granted for the French‑taught course. As a result, the French‑taught course no longer counts toward the French Immersion course requirements, even though it appears on the transcript. For the French Immersion stream in the TMM program, only the second instance of a repeated course is counted toward the requirement of 14 courses taught in French.
