Types of permits
Day permits are for those who wish to park on campus for 24 hours
- Day permits for exterior lots cover parking from 7 a.m. until 11 p.m. daily, and for 24 hours on weekends and statutory holidays.
- Garage permits provide 24/7 access to the specific garage.
- Permits are lot-specific, meaning that they only cover parking in the assigned lot or garage for the day.
- Day permits can also be used to park in the Mann and Desmarais garages and all outdoor lots after 4 p.m. on weekdays and all day on Saturdays, Sundays and statutory holidays.
- Day permits cannot be used for on-street parking or to park at 100 Marie-Curie.
Evening permits are for those who wish to park on campus after 4 p.m.
- Valid from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. in external parking lots and in the Mann and Desmarais garages ONLY. Note that evening permits cannot be used for on-street parking or at 100 Marie-Curie.
Permit holders can request a second parking permit (known as a second tag) for the same space. This service is intended for those who would like to share their parking space because they are not on campus every day.
- For example, if an employee/student is on campus Monday, Tuesday and Thursday (Employee One) and another employee/student (Employee Two) is on campus Wednesday and Friday.
- The multi-year parking permit—and all associated costs—will be assigned to Employee One.
- A secondary tag permit, valid until the end of April, will be issued to Employee Two.
Other parking information
A second tag will not be issued to those seeking a second permit for another personal vehicle: these permits are intended solely for employees who share a single parking permit.
While multiple vehicles may be linked to a single parking permit, only one vehicle may use the permit at any given time. If both vehicles are found on campus simultaneously, the primary multi-year permit holder will receive a courtesy notice, and the vehicle with the second tag will receive a parking infraction.
