VIP parking permit

A VIP permit is reserved for individuals who require enhanced security measures due to their public profile, role or potential risk. These may include senior government officials, high-ranking executives, or individuals under protective protocols.

Security measures may include:

  • Pre-screened vehicle access and identity verification
  • Reserved parking locations
  • Escort or monitoring by security personnel
  • Proximity to secure entrances or drop-off zones
  • Temporary surveillance or access restrictions during the visit

Dignitary parking permit

A dignitary permit is intended for high-profile individuals who do not require elevated security protocols, but whose visit warrants special recognition or accommodation. This category may include:

  • Major donors or benefactors
  • Visiting university board members
  • Prominent alumni or community leaders
  • Distinguished guests attending ceremonial or strategic events

Dignitary permits typically offer premium parking access in convenient or central locations, but do not involve additional security arrangements.

Guest parking permit

A guest permit is suitable for individuals visiting campus for routine or academic purposes. These may include:

  • Guest lecturers or seminar speakers
  • External meeting attendees
  • Visiting researchers or collaborators
  • Short-term academic or administrative guests

Guest permits provide standard access to visitor parking areas and do not include security-enhanced accommodations.

Special event parking permit

Special event permits are designated for occasions that involve a high volume of guests, typically requiring 10 or more guest permits, and necessitate advance coordination with Parking Operations to ensure appropriate space allocation and traffic flow.

These permits are intended for events such as:

  • Conferences or symposiums
  • Campus-wide celebrations or ceremonies
  • Departmental open houses or recruitment events
  • Large-scale meetings or workshops

While special event permits may involve logistical planning, such as reserving specific areas, managing overflow or providing directional signage, they do not include enhanced security measures associated with VIP permits.
