Group booking of accommodation, meals and/or other services must be made at least 30 days prior to the check-in date.
A group booking must include one of the following criteria to qualify for group rates and/or coordination services from uOttawa:
Booking of 10 units or more
Long-term stay of 30+ consecutive nights
Group meals on campus in the Dining Hall or the catering service
Booking of additional services (night security, meeting spaces, room rental, etc.)
Two options are available for group reservations:
Option 1 - Master account
This option allows the group organizer to reserve a selected number of guestrooms for specific dates, at a negotiated rate. All charges are billed on one master account. All charges are billed on one master account. 60-day full cancellation and a 25% deposit to guarantee the reservation. A rooming list must be completed.
Option 2 - Promotional code
A limited number of guestrooms is held for the group until a 45-day cut-off date. Guests are individually responsible for making their own reservation and payment using our and a group promotional code. 48-hour cancellation. This option does not include rooming list management. Conditions applies.
In the summer, the is open to groups with reservations, as an all-you-can-eat buffet. Our menu includes vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal options. A minimum number of people per meal is required to be able to open the dining room. We also offer and take-out meals.
Night watch Security
All minor participants must be accompanied at all times by an adult (at least 18 years of age) on University of Ottawa premises, with a ratio of at least 1 adult for every 10 minors. Overnight security requirements must be coordinated with the University of Ottawa. No external security companies are allowed on campus.
Rate 2023: $241.28 plus tax, per security ambassador, per night. Additional charges apply on statutory holidays.
The rate includes overnight security services from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The schedule is fixed and cannot be changed. The security ambassador will conduct a tour of the rooms assigned to your group. If you wish to have one on each floor that your group occupies, please notify your coordinator.
Duties of the security ambassador are:
- That participants remain in their rooms after the assigned time (excepting issues of personal safety or illness).
- That persons outside the group are not allowed to enter the participant’s rooms
- That noise levels inside participants rooms are at an acceptable level to the residence and its guests.
It is not the responsibility of night watch personnel to supervise, discipline or control the participants. These duties are the responsibility of the client’s supervising personnel.
Night watch personnel will report unruly behavior, excessive noise and inappropriate movement of participants, emergencies or illness to the client’s supervising personnel for appropriate action.
There is no parking for buses. If your group is traveling by motorcoach, the company you are traveling with is probably well aware of bus parking options in downtown Ottawa. We strongly suggest that arrangements be made prior to your arrival on campus. Please visit the for more information.
Rates start at $100 + taxes and coordination fees.
Luggage storage can be provided should the group be arriving prior to the check in time (4:00 PM) or leaving after the checkout time (10:30 AM). Luggage storage must be made prior to your arrival (fees may apply).
