The application for admission must be submitted to the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC) before the admission deadline indicated in the above table, except the microprogram application (uOttawa form) for admission must be submitted by email. The process of transferring applications from OUAC to the University of Ottawa's servers can take up to 10 business days before being able to access the uoZone student portal and upload the documents required to complete your file. An email will be sent to the applicant with more information.

No pre-evaluation service is available, you must submit an application for admission with the necessary documents in order to process the evaluation. The admission decision may vary depending on the strength of your file and the program you are applying to.

Warning: Information contained below has been obtained from internal practices and other university guidelines. Every care has been taken by the staff to verify its accuracy when published, however the content is subject to change without notice.

It is the student’s responsibility to provide all necessary documents to analyze his/her admission file. Your admission application will be closed without further notification if the required documents to complete your admission application are not submitted

A student who already holds a Master of Education degree from the University of Ottawa cannot receive a second master’s degree in the same discipline from the University of Ottawa.

    Admission appeals

Each application for admission is evaluated very carefully and several times. For this reason, admission decisions are rarely overturned. According to the regulation II-1, a denial of admission by the faculty is final. Admission appeals are only considered on procedural grounds. Your appeal will be refused if you fail to clearly outline your rationale and provide supporting documents.

The following reasons are not acceptable for an appeal:

    • You think that the Faculty should review your application one more time.
    • A colleague or a friend of yours, with similar grades, was given an offer of admission.
    • Other universities have offered you admission, so you feel that the Faculty should also offer you admission.
