Biographie

Annie Robitaille (Ph. D.) est professeure adjointe à l’École interdisciplinaire des sciences de la santé de l’Université d’Ottawa et titulaire d’une chaire de recherche en soins des personnes fragilisées du Centre of Excellence, The Perley and Rideau Veterans' Health Centre. Annie a obtenu son doctorat de l’École de psychologie de l’Université d’Ottawa en 2010. Sa thèse porte sur le rôle du soutien social sur la détresse psychologique des personnes âgées au Canada, selon l’Enquête nationale sur la santé de la population. Après son doctorat, elle a fait un stage de recherche postdoctorale au Département de psychologie et au Centre d’étude sur le vieillissement de l’Université de Victoria, et au réseau de recherche IALSA (Integrative Analysis of Longitudinal Studies on Aging and Dementia). En recherche, elle s’est surtout concentrée sur l’analyse d’études longitudinales pour trouver réponse à des questions sur les changements interpersonnels et intrapersonnels dans les processus liés au vieillissement. Elle a également occupé un poste d’associée de recherche postdoctorale au Centre d'apprentissage, de recherche et d'innovation Bruyère de l’Institut de recherche Bruyère et de l’École interdisciplinaire des sciences de la santé de l’Université d’Ottawa. Ses recherches postdoctorales visaient à améliorer la compréhension des comportements réactifs des personnes atteintes de démence tout au long du continuum de soins. 

En ce moment, elle cherche surtout à mieux comprendre les facteurs biopsychosociaux liés au vieillissement, une grande partie de ses recherches portant en particulier sur les personnes fragilisées vivant chez elles ou dans des centres de soins de longue durée. Ses travaux visent également à rehausser la qualité de vie et à réduire l’isolement social des personnes âgées fragilisées dans le continuum de soins ainsi que de leurs aidants naturels.
