Elevating Excellence Entrance Scholarships are renewable and granted upon admission to incoming law students to provide exceptional students with enriched leadership, networking and mentorship opportunities and stable funding during their law school education.

Scholarship recipients will receive renewable financial support and will benefit from additional leadership, networking and mentorship opportunities—fostering continued growth both inside and outside the classroom.

These merit-based entrance scholarships support incoming JD students at the Faculty of Law, Common Law Section, who exemplify academic excellence, leadership, innovation, and integrity.

Scholarship Details

Each recipient will receive $10,000 in the first year of study, and a renewable $5,000 in both their second and third years provided they attain the required academic standing.

Eligibility Criteria

Recipients must meet the following criteria: 

  • Be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, or a person with protected or refugee status.
  • Be admitted as a full-time JD student in the Faculty of Law, Common Law Section, of the University of Ottawa.
  • Demonstrate academic excellence.
  • Demonstrate leadership, innovation and integrity.

These scholarships are automatically awarded to exceptional students. No application required.
