Biographie

Lynda Collins est professeure titulaire au Centre de droit de l'environnement et de la durabilité mondiale de la Faculté de droit de l'Université d'Ottawa. La professeure Collins est une spécialiste des droits de l'homme en matière d'environnement aux niveaux national et international, notamment des droits constitutionnels en matière d'environnement, des droits autochtones en matière d'environnement, des droits de la nature et des droits environnementaux en droit privé. Elle est l'auteur de The Ecological Constitution.

Le professeur Collins a conseillé de nombreuses organisations nationales et internationales, notamment l'Association canadienne pour les Nations unies, le Parlement européen et les Amis de la Terre. Elle a également participé à des réunions d'experts et à des processus participatifs avec le Conseil des droits de l'homme des Nations Unies, le Programme des Nations Unies pour l'environnement et le Rapporteur spécial des Nations Unies sur les droits de l'homme et l'environnement.  Elle a coprésidé le Groupe d'experts scientifiques sur la réduction des substances toxiques de l'Ontario, nommé par le ministre. Avec Heather McLeod-Kilmurray, elle est co-auteur de The Canadian Law of Toxic Torts. 

La professeure Collins s'intéresse également au bien-être des étudiants en droit et des avocats, ainsi qu'au droit et à la politique du bien-être subjectif ; elle enseigne le cours de l'Université d'Ottawa sur le bonheur et le droit. La professeure Collins est membre des barreaux de l'Ontario et de la Californie.
