Alumnus Bruce La Rochelle (‘76) Reappointed to the Canada Agricultural Review Tribunal

Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz announced on December 3, 2014 the reappointment of Bruce La Rochelle (’76) to the Canada Agricultural Review Tribunal (CART). Dr. La Rochelle’s appointment is for a 3-year term effective June 21, 2015.

CART is a small quasi-judicial body that provides Canadians the opportunity to request reviews of certain administrative decisions or penalties imposed under various Agriculture and Agri-Food Acts. In this regard, CART plays a key role in ensuring a fair and efficient administrative monetary penalty system.

Dr. La Rochelle is a lawyer, practicing in association with the Ottawa law firm of Langevin Morris Smith LLP. He is a graduate in common law (magna cum laude) from the University of Ottawa (1976). He also holds an MBA degree from the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto (1981) and a doctorate in business administration from the Schulich School of Business, York University (1993). He has been a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada since 1978.
