Queen’s Law will offer its International Law Programs in May and June 2026. This program is open to uOttawa law students through a Letter of Permission opportunity.

This unique learning experience combines an intensive 8-week academic program with field study visits to law firms, international organizations, and international courts. Courses are taught by leading instructors and guest lecturers who are prominent figures in international law and bring valuable practical experience to the classroom. The program also includes several networking opportunities, such as a career options evening with alumni and friends. Students may choose to study International Business Law, International Environmental Law, or Public International Law.

This 3-credit Winter term project-based ‘course’ provides students with the opportunity to work collaboratively with David Lepofsky, Visiting Professor of Legal Education and Disability Rights, to learn about social justice advocacy strategies and skills. This will be done in the context of disability rights issues, while building resources for a future experiential learning course on lawyers and social justice advocacy. Students may also have the opportunity to contribute to disability rights advocacy initiatives being undertaken by Prof. Lepofsky as the project is running. Registration in the course will be by-selection. Students may be able to participate on the basis of either a Directed Research Project or a Student-Proposed Internship.

International Research and Experiential Learning is pleased to announce the launch of three new programs designed to foster global research collaborations and opportunities at the University of Ottawa:

• The Doctoral Mobility Program for inbound students from Europe and Latin America who would like to conduct research visits at the University of Ottawa.
• The new Global Open Program for uOttawa early career researchers from all disciplines who would like to initiate new collaborations with partners anywhere in the world.
• The new Network Development Program for uOttawa researchers from all disciplines who would like to develop and expand new research collaborations with Asian partners with the eventual goal of establishing a self-sustaining research network.

The application deadline for all three programs is January 12, 2026, at 5:00 PM EST.

What: An info session to explain the Mitacs GRA program at uOttawa, the application process and requirements.

Why: Co-hosted by uOttawa’s International Research and Experiential Learning (IREX) and Mitacs. Participants will learn about the Mitacs GRA program and how it can be used to build research capacity and enhance international collaboration. A question period will also be included.
