**IMPORTANT**
DUE TO TIMETABLING CONSTRAINTS, STUDENTS CANNOT MAKE CHANGES TO THEIR BLOCK SELECTION ONLINE AFTER JUNE 26, 2025.
THE WAITLIST FUNCTION IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR 1L BLOCK REGISTRATION. BETWEEN JUNE 19 AND JUNE 26, YOU MAY USE THE SWAP FUNCTION TO CHANGE YOUR BLOCK ENROLMENT.
THE FACULTY OF LAW AND THE UNIVERSITY WILL NOT BE IN A POSITION TO CONFIRM YOUR FULL-TIME ENROLMENT FOR 2025-2026 UNTIL AFTER ALL THE COURSES OF YOUR BLOCK HAVE BEEN ADDED TO YOUR UOZONE ACCOUNT.
Enrolment for first-year courses is available online, on uoZone; however, these are general provisions. Specific conditions may apply for students who are enrolled in certain programs (e.g. combined programs). Please be sure to carefully read the information relevant to your program. First-year students have a set curriculum and require block enrolment – meaning that they must enrol in a block of pre-determined courses.
If, for very exceptional reasons, you will not have access to the Internet during the enrolment period, you may submit a Modification/Cancellation of Enrolment form (PDF, 228.42 KB) by email at [email protected]. Please indicate, in order of preference, at least 3 block selections.
What is a small group and block registration?
In the first year, your compulsory courses are offered in a course block. Each block of courses is offered to approximately 40-50 students, with the exception of courses offered to students in the Programme de droit canadien.
You must enrol in one of the following groups:
- Small group CML1607 A, Délits Civils
- Small group CML1607 B, Délits Civils
- Small group CML1701 A, Délits et responsabilité extracontractuelle (PDC students only)
You can consult the two different blocks available to French JD students to compare course schedules and other information related to the blocks. We cannot guarantee enrolment in any specific small group or block.
Once you enrol in a small group, you are guaranteed a place in the corresponding block of substantive law courses.
The Common Law Student Centre will enrol you in your assigned block based on your small group selection in uoZone. Students who enrol by June 26 will see their block reflected in uoZone by the end of June or early July. After this initial period, the Common Law Student Centre will continue to monitor and process block enrolments on a regular basis.

Enrolment to CML1611 - Compétences et habiletés juridiques
The Student Center will handle the selection and registration for one of the sections of the compulsory course CML1611.
Please note that in both the fall and winter terms, several compulsory courses are scheduled on Fridays during the time slot labeled as “tutoring.” This term is administrative and reflects how the University accounts for course hours; in practice, this slot is used for compulsory courses rather than tutorial sessions.
Additionally, an oral advocacy exercise will take place on Saturday, March 21, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This is a mandatory activity, and you are responsible for making the necessary arrangements to be available on this date.
