Michael Kergin had an exceptional career as one of Canada's leading diplomats and experts in international affairs. He was Canada's ambassador to the United States from 2000 to 2005 after holding several senior positions in the Canadian government and diplomatic service, including Foreign Policy Advisor to the Prime Minister and Assistant Secretary to the Cabinet for Foreign and Defence Policy. He is currently a Special Advisor on Border Management to the Premier of Ontario.
