Hokbi is a Taiwanese lawyer and a candidate for the Ph.D. in Law of the University of Ottawa. Her research interests include sexual violence in armed conflicts, sexual and reproductive health and rights, gender-based violence and the role of sexual violence in genocide. Her current research focuses on sexual violence as genocide in contemporary Asia, especially affecting women, youth, and girls of the Rohingya, Uyghur and Yazidi communities. She holds master’s degrees in International Humanitarian and Security Law (LLM) from the University of Ottawa (Canada) and International Law from Soochow University (Taiwan).
