Biography

Mr. Lawrence Soloway is a partner in the law firm of Soloway, Wright LLP, where he has engaged in a wide ranging corporate/commercial, real estate, technology and insolvency practice since 1976. He was educated at University of Toronto (BA 1971) and the Faculty of Law of Queen’s University (LLB 1974). He taught at the Bar Admission Course for many years and has delivered papers and presentations at legal seminars in the commercial and insolvency areas of practice.

In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Soloway has been an active member of the local business community as an investor and advisor in real estate, technology and life sciences transactions. He manages a family holding company with significant investments in a number of businesses and properties throughout the Ottawa region.

Mr. Soloway has been involved in a number of local charitable and volunteer activities. He has served as Chair of the United Jewish Appeal Campaign of Ottawa, a member of the executive committee of the Jewish Federation of Ottawa, Chair of the University of Ottawa Heart Institute Foundation and now serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors of the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. He received theQueen Elizabeth Golden Jubilee Medal in 2002 in recognition of his contributions to volunteer and charitable endeavours.
