Chief Information Security Officer

He has been with the University of Ottawa for almost a year, with the objective of raising information security awareness and improving the security posture of the University. He built over 20 years of professional experience working for recognized consulting companies and international luxury retail and manufacture organizations. Nicolas wants to change the approach people have regarding security: Security must be perceived as a business partner, working in a common interest to protect our assets.

Jean-Ray Arseneau

Jean-Ray Arseneau

Senior Director, Infrastructure and Operations

Jean-Ray has been with the University of Ottawa for more than 20 years, occupying 10 different roles throughout the organization. Over the last 10 years, he has focused on security and identity & access management. In his previous role as IT Manager, Security, he was responsible for leading the University’s IAM platform and processes, including the planning of a new, modern IAM solution that will be launched alongside Workday.

Guy-Vincent Jourdan

Guy-Vincent Jourdan

Professor at the Faculty of Engineering

Guy-Vincent Jourdan is the co-director of new Cyber Range currently being built in the STEM building, and the director of the microprogram in cybersecurity. He joined the faculty of Engineering in June 2004, after 7 years in the private sector. He received his PhD from l'Université de Rennes/INRIA in France in 1995 in the field of distributed systems analysis. His research interests include distributed systems modeling and analysis, software security, and cybercrime detection and prevention.

Guy-Vincent will talk about "The strengths and limitations of various authentication methods that we use daily lives".
