Julia Elvidge (BSc, BASc, ICD.D)brings 30 years of high technology business experience to her work as an adviser, board member and investor. She is the co-founder of SheBoot, a bootcamp for women entrepreneurs of scalable tech and tech-enabled businesses preparing for their first external investment, a critical period for any founder’s journey but especially difficult for women. In addition, Julia works as an advisor at Invest Ottawa and serves on the Capital Angel Network (CAN) andCentre of Excellence in Next Generation Networks (CENGN) boards of directors and the Hardware Catalyst Initiative (HCI) VentureLab advisory board.

Trained as an electrical engineer, Julia designed microchip circuits and analyzed semiconductors before moving into the business side of technology. Julia’s key business experience included scaling a business with a focus on strategic planning, execution, leadership development and culture. Another significant achievement was orchestrating a revenue generation shift from “bill by hour” services to SaaS subscription products. Chipworks was sold to TechInsights in June 2016 and Julia left the business in 2017.
