6 Weeks of Sexual Violence Prevention

Week 1 – September 5th to September 9th

  • September 5th Take Back the Night (promo material attached).
  • September 6th Look for the Human Rights Office at your Faculty’s Orientation Sessions!
  • September 8th Look for the Human Rights Office at the Student Health and Wellness Centre Grand Opening from 11 am to 1 pm.

Week 3 – September 19th to 23rd : Consent Awareness Week

  • September 20th, #IBelieveYou Day

Leave written messages of support for survivors at University Square.

The Human Rights Office, in collaboration with the Women’s Resource Center and Health Promotions, invite all uOttawa community members to leave written messages of support for survivors of sexual violence. We also invite everyone to spend some time in the temporary green space and take messages of support home with them.

You can also learn more about how you can support survivors of sexual violence and where to refer them on campus!

Week 4 – September 26th to 30th

  • In collaboration with Health Promotions, students and staff are welcome to leave chalk messages at University Alley (Grande Allée) and to learn more about health and consent! We will be there all week (schedule to come).
  • September 26th – In collaboration with Career Services, the HRO will be presenting to School of Music students!
  • September 30th – In collaboration with Health Promotions and Varsity Athletics, come learn more about health and consent at the Carleton University vs. uOttawa Rugby Game at 4:30 pm!
  • October 1st – Look for the Human Rights Office at Panda Games!

Week 5 – October 3 to 7th (TBD)

Week 6 – October 10 – 14th (TBD)
