Guest tickets

Ordering your guest tickets

Every guest, including all children, must have their own printed or electronic ticket to present at the entrance to the hall. While tickets are required, seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Graduates are responsible for registering to obtain tickets for their guests and for ensuring that their guests have these tickets. As a graduate, you do not need a ticket; your seat is reserved at the front of the room.

Guest tickets for your convocation ceremony will be available free of charge through Eventbrite. You can order them any time from 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, until 11:30 p.m. on the day before your ceremony. For example, if your ceremony is on June 7, you can order your tickets until 11:30 p.m. on June 6. Make sure that you order all your tickets during this period.

On May 22, around 1 p.m, you will receive an email with your Access Code and details on how to order your tickets.

Number of guest tickets per graduate

Because seating in the hall is limited, the number of guests allowed is restricted. Normally, each graduate will only be allocated two (2) tickets.

Further information will be published on this page one month before the ceremonies.

Any friends or family members who cannot attend in person can join the live stream of the celebration or watch a recording of the ceremonies at any time. Links to attend the ceremony online will be posted before the ceremony.

Extra tickets
Unclaimed tickets are offered to the general public 90 minutes before each ceremony (one per person while supplies last). Note that there is usually only a small number of tickets remaining at this point. For the Ottawa ceremonies, they can be picked up in the Parliament Foyer of the Shaw Centre (Level 3). For ceremonies taking place in Toronto and Windsor, they can be picked up onsite.

Cancelling your tickets

If you have ordered tickets but cannot attend or use the tickets, please contact InfoService and leave your name and student number.

If you are an international student and need a temporary visa for family members, contact InfoService for instructions.
