Loan conditions
The Lender agrees to lend the artwork(s) to the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Arts for a duration of 12 months, from September 2025 to September 2026. The loan(s) may only be used for the purpose and duration mentioned in this loan agreement.
The Lender is responsible for submitting artwork(s) for which they are the sole author or a co-author. If they are a co-author, they must submit the consent of the other author(s) as an appendix to the signed agreement.
Drop-off and pick-up
The Lender must drop off and pick up the artwork(s) at 60 University Private, Ottawa, ON K1N 8Z4 (Simard Hall), Room 229 on the agreed-upon dates.
The artwork(s) must be picked up by the Lender at the end of the exhibition, with a grace period of one week after the pick-up date stated in the agreement upon special request. If the Lender does not pick up the loan(s) within the specified timeframe, the Faculty of Arts holds the right to store and/or assume the loan(s) as the faculty sees fit.
Drop-off date: Beginning of April to mid-May 2025
Pick-up date: Monday, September 1, 2026
Care and installation
The loan(s) will be enclosed in a locked glass cabinets away from direct sunlight, located on the first floor of Simard Hall. If special installation is required, the Lender is responsible for providing the faculty with the materials required.
If the artwork(s) contain(s) a significant amount of text in either English or French, the Faculty of Arts will work with the Lender to provide a bilingual transcript to be displayed next to the artwork(s) in question.
Copyright and reproduction
The Lender grants the Faculty of Arts and the Department of Visual Arts the rights to reproduce promotional images of the loan(s) on their respective social media networks, the University of Ottawa website, as well as in any document intended for promotion, information dissemination, or institutional publications, including annual reports.
Liability
The University of Ottawa and the Faculty of Arts are not responsible for loss or damage to the loan(s).
