Biography

Adya Karthikeyan joined the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at uOttawa in September 2023. Her research vision is to democratize surface engineering of different materials at an industrial scale to enhance mass, momentum and energy transport and reduce the carbon footprint of the manufacturing sector.

Dr. Karthikeyan developed her expertise in surface engineering, energy transport and biodegradable polymers through PhD studies at McGill University and a postdoctoral fellowship at Polytechnique Montréal. Her expertise was also honed through eight years of industrial experience, five as a nuclear power plant commissioning and operation specialist (before her PhD) and a further three as a materials expert in a global managerial position at Saint-Gobain (after her PhD).
