Event details

In this workshop, we’ll be using Scratch, a free software program available online, to teach children the basics of programming. We’ll create a Valentine’s Day-themed game whose aim is to shoot arrows at a heart-shaped target to accumulate points. The workshop will demonstrate how to adapt the complexity of the game so that pedagogical differentiation meets the needs of high-achieving or higher-level students.

Participants will leave with the following resources:

  • Learning objectives by grade

  • Detailed step-by-step instructions for the activity

  • An additional activity to demonstrate the concepts acquisition taught

  • A rubric based on ministerial standards for each grade level

This workshop is presented in collaboration with Idéllo.

This workshop is also offered in French on February 1.
