Biography

Prof. Azarm brings a nuanced blend of academic insight and real-world expertise to the field of data systems and analytics. As an assistant professor at the University of San Francisco (USF), she explores the transformative potential of open-source AI models in business contexts, based on her deep understanding of complex data architectures. Prof. Azarm has also taught data engineering at UC Berkeley, and Python programming and product development at the University of Ottawa.

Before entering academia, Mana Azarm spent over a decade in technology, including holding leadership positions at a Silicon Valley unicorn and co-founding a construction tech venture. Her industry experience grounds her academic work in real-world problem-solving. Her consulting and partnership with the Bank of Canada, the City of Ottawa and Ontario Health reflect her commitment to turning technical expertise into meaningful solutions.
