An important legacy contribution from Lorraine McMullen Trust to fund the Anna Foley McMullen Scholarship for Nursing Students.

The Anna Foley McMullen Scholarship was created by Dr. Lorraine McMullen (Certificate in Public Nursing’48, BScN’48, M.A. EN’67, PhD EN’70), professor emeritus with the Department of English at the University of Ottawa. The fund was established in 1999 in memory of her mother.

The purpose of the fund is to provide financial assistance to women students registered to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program or to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing for Registered Nurses program.

Thanks to this scholarship, nearly $300,000 has been awarded to 142 students over the last 20 years!

This gift from the Lorraine McMullen Trust will increase the impact of the Anna Foley McMullen Scholarship by allowing even more nursing students to benefit from it on an annual basis, which is especially important given the increased demand for health care professionals.

Thank you for this generous contribution and for supporting students in pursuit of higher education at the University of Ottawa!
