Message from the chief administrative officer

A look back at the year 2024-2025

During 2024–2025, many achievements have illustrated our administrative personnel’s excellent work and served as a testament to our commitment to continuous improvement and collaboration. These successes have been achieved while we’ve ensured the fiscal viability of our activities and met our responsibilities to students and to our many partners.

Facing challenges through collaboration

The Faculty has worked closely with its partners in the hospital sector to find common ground regarding the crisis management training required. As well, Faculty risk management personnel have worked with the University’s Student Health and Wellness Centre to offer joint vaccination clinics for interns in various clinical settings. These initiatives are concrete examples of our ability to adapt quickly to change, capitalize on available opportunities and effectively handle challenges.

Our contribution and profile

The communications team has ensured the viability of the diverse research conducted at the Faculty by publishing 15 articles. Many promotional videos for School of Human Kinetics and School of Nursing programs have been produced to show our cutting-edge facilities and learning opportunities. These examples show our researchers’ varied, dynamic achievements, their contributions to knowledge and, thus, to the Faculty’s profile.

Student retention and satisfaction

This year, we’ve begun to restructure the Academic Office, to broaden the range of services offered to undergraduate students. In particular, we’ve aimed to boost our ability to respond in just one intervention to complex questions from students, while offering them personalized service. These changes aim to improve student retention and satisfaction.

Continuous improvement to remain viable

Human Resources has worked closely with several Faculty managers to update many position profiles, including in the Schools and the dean’s office, to better reflect the true complexity of the tasks performed by administrative personnel. Finance department has begun a restructuring, to increase the quality of services supporting research by designating a person to study complex files and develop adapted solutions. These changes reflect our commitment to promote a culture of continuous improvement that ensures our services remain viable.

These many achievements have made us feel truly grateful for the thorough work done every day by all our administrative personnel, as well as for the constant, exemplary dedication our teams show towards the Faculty.
