2024 Summer Studentship Program - Submit an application


This year, the Undergraduate Medical Education office will offer five $5,000 scholarships. The main objective of these summer projects is to improve the MD Program. Preference will be given to projects that will directly impact or improve the curriculum.

Who can apply:

Participation as a supervisor is limited to individuals who are affiliated with the University of Ottawa Faculty of Medicine.

Use of Scholarship:

The scholarship will be used to pay the salary of a selected student to work on the project for a period of 10 weeks, between May 27 and August 16, 2024.

Information needed to submit the project:

In your project proposal, you must include detailed information on

  • your requirements for staff (UGME Operations team members, including Translation Services) which needs to be preapproved by the UGME Office
  • information technology resources (Medtech) which needs to be preapproved by the IT Committee (ITC).

Note: The UGME Office will not sponsor projects requiring resources that have not been pre-approved.

Project Approval:

Please note that all projects that directly impact or improve the curriculum will need a decision on the implementation date and approval by the Curriculum Content Review Committee (CCRC) to be sponsored.

Please note that all projects must be done remotely.

***Supervisors must have an appointment with the Faculty of Medicine (please indicate your affiliation with the Faculty of Medicine)
