Biography

Dr. Basilious is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist, with a clinical focus in cataract & refractive cataract surgery, cornea, and glaucoma. He holds an appointment as staff cataract surgeon at The Ottawa Hospital and Focus Eye Centre. He is a Clinical Investigator with the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute.

Dr. Basilious completed both his medical training (MD) and surgical residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Toronto where he served as Chief Resident. After completing his FRCSC in Ophthalmology, he went on to a subspecialty surgical fellowship in Anterior Segment at the University of Montreal. 

Dr. Basilious has a strong commitment to research and teaching. He has published and presented widely with a focus on cataract surgery, cornea and glaucoma.
